An advocate is a champion for someone else; either in a court room, or in a hospital setting or in buying real estate. Buyers need their own champion, someone who will be in their corner at all times. An Exclusive Buyer Agent is the buyer’s champion. Since the EBA works only for the buyer the EBA can provide their client all the benefit of their experience, knowledge and support 100% of the time. EBA’s never work for a seller, so there is never a hidden agenda, they will never push one property over another, because they owe their client complete honesty. Buyers want to buy a property on the best terms and price – for them. Sellers want to sell a property on the best terms and price – for them. So does it make sense that a buyer would “hire” a seller’s agent to achieve this goal? Not really, but that is what most buyers do when they work with a listing agent or a traditional buyer agent, who is often just a “sub-agent” for the seller.
